Community guidelines
Short and friendly. The fewer rules the better — and these are the only ones.
1. Be neighborly
Treat every person on this site like you'd treat someone standing next to you in line at the General Store. Disagree without name-calling. Apologize when you're wrong. We're all here.
2. Stay on topic
This is for life around Lakeside, NY — talk about the lake, the town, and the people in it. National politics and culture wars belong elsewhere.
3. No commercial spam
Local businesses are welcome to post in the directory and announce events. But don't blast the forum with promotion. Threads should be conversations.
4. Marketplace is honest
Describe items truthfully. Mark sold/done when sold/done. No scams, no MLMs, no firearms or anything you can't legally sell to a neighbor.
5. Look out for each other
If someone's posting something that worries you, flag it — or just check on them. Mods are neighbors, not bots, and we'll respond like it.
